The model Employer’s Edge has adopted relates to behaviour change and modification leading to on-going healthy lifestyles. This model is based around individual results. The effects are long term too!

Employer’s Edge,

They say that early warning signs are important in most points of life. That is certainly true for our health. Back in February 2009 when Employers Edge came to Amway Canada Corporation for the employees I decided to look into joining the program based on past success with other employees the previous year. We did our initial measurements that included Blood Pressure. I had always checked my pressure once a year at physicals in the past and all was okay. But this time it was through the roof and it really scared me big-time. 

As a result I went into denial and shock. I then decided to see my doctor who indeed confirmed that I needed to watch things closely and if it did not go down I would have to go on blood pressure pills. I did not want to implement that option. I asked my doctor how to manage and get the BP down. He stated very clearly - weight management, exercise, proper diet and normal BMI (Body Mass Index) measurements. Therefore I decided to change my life totally.

 

All of what he said is what Employers Edge provided in their program. Therefore I developed a game plan with Laura and put things in motion back in March that incorporates all of things I needed to do as stated by my doctor.  I changed my diet completely and gave up bad foods and drastically reduced alcohol intake. All of this was nicely outlined in the Employers Edge handouts and I followed those recommendations to the letter. It really helped focused me every day.

 

Additionally I have had counseling sessions with Laura once a month to keep me on track and most importantly to have a positive reinforcement from an expert in this field that what I was doing was right and on track. The sessions with Laura were critical and I can't stress enough how valuable they have been towards my success to date. I have lost 48 pounds the right way, the healthy way since early March based on the Employers Edge program.  In addition the good news is that my blood pressure has gone down to levels that do not require me to go on pills. This makes me really happy.

 

In closing to be real honest I can't thank Laura and the whole Employers Edge team enough for providing me with the tools and program to get my life from a health perspective back under control and more importantly with providing me with a roadmap to use for the rest of my life. I truly mean it when I say that the Employers Edge program coupled with support from my wonderful wife Candy has literally saved my life. Early warning signs are very important. The choice is ours to do something about it. I picked a better healthy quality of life over a bad one with Employers Edge being the roadmap to follow for lifelong healthy success.
